An Efficient Rapid Method for Generators Coherency Identification in Large Power Systems

چکیده

With steadily increasing interest in enhancing large power systems’ transient stability, generator coherency identification has become critical for the dynamic equivalents, controlled-islanding, and wide-area control of these systems. This paper presents an approach based on two classical powerful techniques. The proposed method comprises slow followed by time-domain-based simulation stability to identify coherent groups generators. In this regard, various operating conditions system are considered obtain updated information between generators analyzing chosen rotor angle. approach’s merits tested New England IEEE 39-Bus modified 118-Bus test systems PowerFactory software tools through Python. Corresponding results validate paradigm’s effectiveness speed a without decreasing its behavior accuracy. It is also observed that scheme tends be more consistent determining presence disturbances different operational conditions.
